Ooops

One of the baby cards didn't upload so here it is......It just had to be the on with the peel offs too lol

Baby Cards

One of the Mum's Aimee and I walk to school with, had a baby girl last month, Aaiya (Rhymes like Hiya) had such an unusual name I just had to include it on out card, another Mum asked me to make her a card as well. Aaiya has a big brother and I did not want to leave him out, the idea for a Big Brother card came from when Aimee was born my Mum got her a Big Sister T shirt.
I made the baby cards the day before my Sundae of Seasons Cd arrived so I used bits and pieces from my stash (including the dreaded peel off which I really don't like using much) the Big Brother cards have been made using Sundae of Seasons and Not for Girls CDs (I just love the Coool Tweets).
So here they are, four cards in one go, I promise I will blog again very soon.

I am back!

I have been neglecting my blog since the the end of the summer. Now it's nearly the end of the half term holidays, the girls have been away on the Isle of Wight, back tomorrow in time for Trick or Treating.
Anyway I have been busy making cards, not just for Birthdays but for Christmas too (yes the dreaded C word).
I have been keeping my printer VERY busy of late as I am just addicted to crafting CDs, my favorite at the moment is the latest from Polkadoodles (who else lol) Sundae of Seasons. If you haven't seen it yet, just go and visit and click on the gallery, you will see loads of fab inspiration from Nikky and her DT.
Anyway as it's Halloween tomorrow I though my first showing in a while would be the Goody bags I have done for tomorrow just for Kathryn, Aimee and some of their friends, all elements from Polkadoodles Sundae of Seasons and the Halloween Download available from the website.

Another Calender

Well the summer holidays are over, the girls have just finished their first week back at school.
I can now get back to crafting. I am really loving easel cards at the moment and made another calender. I used elements from a papermania large card decoupage to make this one (sunflowers are one of Aimee's favourite flowers).

On holiday but still crafting

The past few weeks have been very busy, preparing for the summer holidays and all the activities that go on before the schools break up for the summer.
We are coming to the end of our first week away on the Isle of Wight, it is only the last couple of days I have managed to get any crafting done.
Yesterday I visited one of the many crafts shops on the Island and found some 2011 calenders so I just had to make one last night.
I have just used a simple easel card to make my calender and nothing fancy just some papers and I have finished it with some glitter glue (just a flitter on the butterflies).
My Mum has kindly given me her old digital camera which is far better than my old one so I can now take decent pictures of ALL of my cards as I could never get anything but regular cards in the scanner.
I will also be posting some pictures from our holiday while we are here, these to follow soon.

A bit of a holiday

It's half term this week, the girls are away in France with my parents and nephew so this week I have had some time to myself to make some cards, I haven't done much crafting the past couple of months so this week has been nice.Father's day is coming up soon and a friend asked me to make cards for her Dad from herself and her daughters. She likes cute cards so I have gone for Polkadoodles yet again.
Most of the cardmaking things are packed away again, the girl get back tomorrow night (my birthday).

Happy Birthday to Polkadoodles!

One of my favorite crafting companies Polkadoodles is celebrating there 1st birthday, to celebrate they have some fab n funky papers to download for FREE!
For this weeks extra special challenge you have to use these papers in your work, therare extra special prizes up for grabs as well, the theme for this week is dimension & texture.
I love the colour combo of blues n browns so decided to use that colourway (there are 2 to choose from), I used kraft card as my base, some c'ordinations card which I have embossed with a CB folder and lightly gone over with sandpaper, the edges of the card have been distressed, no expensive distressing tool. just the edge of a pair of scissors. I have used some craft wire, brads, leather thonging and a little dangling charm ro add even more dimension and texture, plus foam tape to add even more depth.
Happy Birthday Polkadoodles...may thenext year bring even more scrummy stuff!
You can find the challenge and free download here

What to do on a rainy May day

We woke up this morning and the weather is grotty, not what we want for this time of year, gray sky and rain, I hope the volcano ash has nothing to do with it!
I had printed quite a few pages from All Around and Everywhere from Polkadoodles (quelle suprise!).
Here are my first 3 cards, I couldn't resist using googly eyes on the birds, I have one more of mine to scan, it's drying and also one Aimee did.
I have used promarkers to edge some of the cards, and just finished them with card candy as they go so well with the colours on this CD. A little sparkle has been added to 2 of them using stickles. The top row of bunting on the cupcake card has been mounted on foam squares to give some dimension,

Cupcake card good enough to eat

My new Cd arrived last week, from Polkadoodles, It's called All Around and Everywhere, if you liked Back to Nature you will LOVE this one.
I have printed loads of bits and pieces off and have finally done my first complete card. It has been a busy week catching up with washing after the machine broke down I have hardly had any time for any realy crafting.
My Mum came over this week with loads of more crafting goodies from a friend of hers who didnt have time for cardmaking anymore (she does quilting),
Anyway this card has gone into school this morning with Aimee for a friend in her class who is 9 tomorrow and Aimee specifically asked for this one.
Its finished with some card candy, sticky ribbon and glitter glue.
I am hoping I might get to make one or two more today.

Just Horsin' Around

I forgot about this card I had made for Kathryn's 13th birthday, again using a Polkadoodles Cd Back to Nature, I used Pricilla the horse as the main image, all the other bits and pirces are taken from the same CD.
Just waiting for the new CD from PD.

Another Peter Rabbit card for an old (well my oldest) friend. Just finished off with some ribbon from my stash which matches the card perfectly and a few gems.
Happy St George's Day to all, iy's also my Mum's Birthday.
Looking forward to today as the New Polkadoodles CD All Around Everywhere is being launced on Create & Craft, I have it on order already even though I've only seen a sneek peek so watch this space as it won;t be too long before I am making cards with the new CD, if you want a peek before then go here

Dotty for Polkadoodles

Most of the cards I have made recently I have used elements from one of my Polkadoodles CDs, these 2 cards have elements taken from the Paper Boutique CD.
I love all the images on the CD and aim to have made at least one card from every section by the end of the year (no problem me thinks)
It is my Mum's birthday soon (23rd April) so have used the Ladybird to make a card from the girls, the other one is using the really cute rabbit, not for anyone in particular but I couldn't resist (ideal for Easter as well as birthdays). With all the fabby sentiments on the CD I could easily add an age or a name when the card is needed.
As this weeks challenge on the Polkadoodles blog is Animal Magic I will enter these, I have been so lucky so far and got a 3rd with Kathryn's birthday card and a 1st (yes really) with the animal print cake card so I am showing off my blinkie with pride and Nikky sent me some fab downloads to go with my 1st blinkie, anyway this weeks challenge is hereAnyway watch this space for the next Polkadoodle card. Also Nikky is launching another CD on 23rd April (this Friday) on C&C if you go to her website you can get a sneak peak at some of the artwork here

Cards for Robert

It was Robert's birthday yesterday, 53 years young. Here are the cards I made for him the Cricket card is from me (Obviously as it says husband lol), I have used elements from Polkadoodles Not For Girls CD the card I made for the girls to give to their Dad has elements from A My Craft Studio Cd Carousel Of Classics.
He loves them both so if he's happy so am I.

A Wedding Challenge

I haven't been to a wedding in over 15 years, and no weddings planned in the future, people just don't seem to get married anymore. This weeks challenge from Polkadoodles is a Wedding project or card. I had to of course use the Love & Cherish Cd from Polkadoodles, a stunning collection of not just weddings but everyday cards, after spending ages yesterday trying to decided what to print off I then spent ages playing around with the design, anyway I ended up making 2 cards, not in the usual tradional wedding style, I do love the black & red, I just hope it's OK to enter 2 into the challenge as I couldn't decide witch one to enter. If you want to enter this weeks challenge go here

A special card for the boy next door

Aimee's friend Brandon who lives next door to us is 13 tomorrow, it is also my husband Robert's birthday tomorrow (he's a bit more than 13 though).
Brandon like mechanical type things, at the moment his favorties are the Henry vacumn cleaner, there is a whole family of them apparently.
I used my newly aquired My Craft Studio Professional programme, it is fab!
I decided to do a penny slider card to add some movement, I think a kinetic card would appeal.
So here it is.
I will add Robert's birthday cards tomorrow, I just didn't want him to see them as they are scanned and stored on the computer he uses,

Sunday 4 April 2010

Happy Easter and more cards

A Happy Easter to you all, it's gone 5 am on Easter Sunday and the eggs are laid out for the girls, as we don't have a garden they are hidden around the house, it should keep them Happy for a while, we just have to make sure they bursh there teeth well, Aimee lost one yesterday that had been wobbly for a while.
Anyway here are my latest cards, made especially for a friend as a special request.
Don't eat too many eggs (I don't have any thankfully)

Another Birthday another challenge

I was asked to make a card for a friend for her sister's birthday and she loves anything animal print. A card for Dad

It's my Dad's birthday next week, I was going to do the usual nautical theme (My Dad sails) but couldnt find anything that grabbed me.
This week I received my paper boutique CD from Polkadoodles and decided to use the Male owl (Mr Twitty). This card also covers this weeks challenge on Polkadoodles challenge blog, thers is a sketch to follow and you had to use blue & brown (a fab colour combination).
I have left the card simple, I would have loved to use some ribbons, flowers or bling but not for my Dad lol
I hope he likes it.
The CD is fab, I only received it yesterday but this is my second card I have made already, just need to put finishing touches to the first one.
To join in with this weeks, challenge go here

A challenge of a 13th Birthday card

It is my oldest daughter Kathryn's birthday on Monday and she will be 13.
This card I have done for her younger sister to give her, Aimee loves the animals on Polkadoodles Back To Nature CD so it had to be an owl.
This weeks challenge on the Polkadoodles challenge blog happens to be a milestone birthday or anniversary so it fits in with that too!
I have wrapped a patterened acetate arouund the card and stuck the owl on the front, her back is on the inside of the acetate too.
All I have to do now is make a card from myself and Robert, and get her Birthday presents.
TO take part in the challenge go here

My First Peter Rabbit Card

I just love my New Peter Rabbit CD from Crafters Companion, money being tight I could only buy the one so it had to be Peter.
Here is the first card I made, just a little A6 card, I just love the Peter Rabbit blue, this CD will be great when I need a card for a baby or toddler (I have already made one for a friend but who forgot to scan it!).
So here he is.

Tuesday 16 March 2010

Missed one lol

One of the cards was missed here it is lol

Back After a Long Time

It is quiet a while since I blogged, November last year in fact, so Happy New Year lol.
Had a lot of dama towards the end of last year and the start of this, the girls has a major leak in there bedroom which runied the carpet they ended up staying with my parents for the last 2 weeks of school, then stays in hospital for Robert with his chest again, the last time he went in I visited and managed to catch the nasty norovirus.
Anyway, back to more normal things, I have been doing some cardmaking when I can, I have been naughty and not scanned all of them but here are some of them, I have some more to make tomorrow milestone birthdays for my oldest daughter who will be 13 on Monday and my Uncle who is 70 soon.
The first batch of cards I made for a friend of a friend who saw a card I made and asked me to make her some.
I hope she likes them
Now I just have to remember how to blog lol
