I am back!

I have been neglecting my blog since the the end of the summer. Now it's nearly the end of the half term holidays, the girls have been away on the Isle of Wight, back tomorrow in time for Trick or Treating.
Anyway I have been busy making cards, not just for Birthdays but for Christmas too (yes the dreaded C word).
I have been keeping my printer VERY busy of late as I am just addicted to crafting CDs, my favorite at the moment is the latest from Polkadoodles (who else lol) Sundae of Seasons. If you haven't seen it yet, just go and visit and click on the gallery, you will see loads of fab inspiration from Nikky and her DT.
Anyway as it's Halloween tomorrow I though my first showing in a while would be the Goody bags I have done for tomorrow just for Kathryn, Aimee and some of their friends, all elements from Polkadoodles Sundae of Seasons and the Halloween Download available from the website.

Another Calender

Well the summer holidays are over, the girls have just finished their first week back at school.
I can now get back to crafting. I am really loving easel cards at the moment and made another calender. I used elements from a papermania large card decoupage to make this one (sunflowers are one of Aimee's favourite flowers).

On holiday but still crafting

The past few weeks have been very busy, preparing for the summer holidays and all the activities that go on before the schools break up for the summer.
We are coming to the end of our first week away on the Isle of Wight, it is only the last couple of days I have managed to get any crafting done.
Yesterday I visited one of the many crafts shops on the Island and found some 2011 calenders so I just had to make one last night.
I have just used a simple easel card to make my calender and nothing fancy just some papers and I have finished it with some glitter glue (just a flitter on the butterflies).
My Mum has kindly given me her old digital camera which is far better than my old one so I can now take decent pictures of ALL of my cards as I could never get anything but regular cards in the scanner.
I will also be posting some pictures from our holiday while we are here, these to follow soon.

A bit of a holiday

It's half term this week, the girls are away in France with my parents and nephew so this week I have had some time to myself to make some cards, I haven't done much crafting the past couple of months so this week has been nice.Father's day is coming up soon and a friend asked me to make cards for her Dad from herself and her daughters. She likes cute cards so I have gone for Polkadoodles yet again.
Most of the cardmaking things are packed away again, the girl get back tomorrow night (my birthday).

Happy Birthday to Polkadoodles!

One of my favorite crafting companies Polkadoodles is celebrating there 1st birthday, to celebrate they have some fab n funky papers to download for FREE!
For this weeks extra special challenge you have to use these papers in your work, therare extra special prizes up for grabs as well, the theme for this week is dimension & texture.
I love the colour combo of blues n browns so decided to use that colourway (there are 2 to choose from), I used kraft card as my base, some c'ordinations card which I have embossed with a CB folder and lightly gone over with sandpaper, the edges of the card have been distressed, no expensive distressing tool. just the edge of a pair of scissors. I have used some craft wire, brads, leather thonging and a little dangling charm ro add even more dimension and texture, plus foam tape to add even more depth.
Happy Birthday Polkadoodles...may thenext year bring even more scrummy stuff!
You can find the challenge and free download here

What to do on a rainy May day

We woke up this morning and the weather is grotty, not what we want for this time of year, gray sky and rain, I hope the volcano ash has nothing to do with it!
I had printed quite a few pages from All Around and Everywhere from Polkadoodles (quelle suprise!).
Here are my first 3 cards, I couldn't resist using googly eyes on the birds, I have one more of mine to scan, it's drying and also one Aimee did.
I have used promarkers to edge some of the cards, and just finished them with card candy as they go so well with the colours on this CD. A little sparkle has been added to 2 of them using stickles. The top row of bunting on the cupcake card has been mounted on foam squares to give some dimension,

Cupcake card good enough to eat

My new Cd arrived last week, from Polkadoodles, It's called All Around and Everywhere, if you liked Back to Nature you will LOVE this one.
I have printed loads of bits and pieces off and have finally done my first complete card. It has been a busy week catching up with washing after the machine broke down I have hardly had any time for any realy crafting.
My Mum came over this week with loads of more crafting goodies from a friend of hers who didnt have time for cardmaking anymore (she does quilting),
Anyway this card has gone into school this morning with Aimee for a friend in her class who is 9 tomorrow and Aimee specifically asked for this one.
Its finished with some card candy, sticky ribbon and glitter glue.
I am hoping I might get to make one or two more today.
