Happy Birthday to Polkadoodles!
One of my favorite crafting companies Polkadoodles is celebrating there 1st birthday, to celebrate they have some fab n funky papers to download for FREE!
For this weeks extra special challenge you have to use these papers in your work, therare extra special prizes up for grabs as well, the theme for this week is dimension & texture.
I love the colour combo of blues n browns so decided to use that colourway (there are 2 to choose from), I used kraft card as my base, some c'ordinations card which I have embossed with a CB folder and lightly gone over with sandpaper, the edges of the card have been distressed, no expensive distressing tool. just the edge of a pair of scissors. I have used some craft wire, brads, leather thonging and a little dangling charm ro add even more dimension and texture, plus foam tape to add even more depth.
Happy Birthday Polkadoodles...may thenext year bring even more scrummy stuff!
You can find the challenge and free download here

What to do on a rainy May day
We woke up this morning and the weather is grotty, not what we want for this time of year, gray sky and rain, I hope the volcano ash has nothing to do with it!
I had printed quite a few pages from All Around and Everywhere from Polkadoodles (quelle suprise!).
Here are my first 3 cards, I couldn't resist using googly eyes on the birds, I have one more of mine to scan, it's drying and also one Aimee did.
I have used promarkers to edge some of the cards, and just finished them with card candy as they go so well with the colours on this CD. A little sparkle has been added to 2 of them using stickles. The top row of bunting on the cupcake card has been mounted on foam squares to give some dimension,

Cupcake card good enough to eat
My new Cd arrived last week, from Polkadoodles, It's called All Around and Everywhere, if you liked Back to Nature you will LOVE this one.
I have printed loads of bits and pieces off and have finally done my first complete card. It has been a busy week catching up with washing after the machine broke down I have hardly had any time for any realy crafting.
My Mum came over this week with loads of more crafting goodies from a friend of hers who didnt have time for cardmaking anymore (she does quilting),
Anyway this card has gone into school this morning with Aimee for a friend in her class who is 9 tomorrow and Aimee specifically asked for this one.
Its finished with some card candy, sticky ribbon and glitter glue.
I am hoping I might get to make one or two more today.
