And some more houses

Here are some more of my houses.
I hope the recipients like them, I have really enjoyed making them they are so much fun, I may make some for christmas and make a banner out of them (if I have the time of course).
A big thank you once again to Dan for the template, you must check out his blog , he posts new templates weekly and you can buy some of his older templates (including the house) for a very reasonable price.

More Little Houses

I couldn't sleep last night so at about 4 this morning I was making some more of these lovely little houses.
I have done all the ones I need for a swap but I still want to do some more (my 7 year old daughter has asked me to make her one in pink).
I mainly used adirondack inks and rubber stamps but I did one using some backing papers finished with a sakura glitter pen and one using the wonderful mica powder paints from The Artistic Stamper.
It's no nice to have inky fingers after so long.

My First Little House

After a month away on the Isle of Wight we finally arrived back home on Wednesday afternoon. I haven't done much crafting, just some Christmas cards using a kit I ordered from QVC and had posted to my parents house and a morning at a craft workshop in Newport with Wightcat Crafts (it's turning into a once a year thing). I was busy on the sewing machine though, made myself 5 skirts.
Anyway my first thing since getting back is my very first go at a house.
The template is from the very talented Dan (see button at the top of my blog for a link). He has been releasing different templates weekly, you can still get the house template for a small fee. I reduced the template to 75% of the original size.
Used Adirondack ink pads (butterscotch terracotta and espresso) and finished with a black gel pen. Stamps used are some tiny ones by Clear Stamps I have just stamped randomly all over the house.
I had lots of fun getting ink on my fingers after such a long time, I can't wait to do the next one.
The girls are back at school next week so I am hoping to get more time to sort throught my crafting stash abnd play some more.

Not crafting but funny

My 11 year old daughter Kathryn was out playing last Wednesday and decided to wander into the lift of the block of flats behind us. She didnt tell anyone she was just out and about. I was on the computer, dh in the kitchen, then I hear a neighbour was fixing his stock car at shout out to hubby the he says "your daughter is stuck in the lift".
Poor hubby went up to the third floor , poor thing was out of breathe due to his asthma and other lung problem, luckily she was fine. Jason our neighbout tried opening the door with a crow bar...no luck. So 999 was called. They turned up quite quickly, luckily Kathryn was calm the whole time and we were even entertained by Jason and his mate who decided to run a race.
Anyway after a short time we could hear sirens, around they came blue lights flashing, I directed them to the block, then to my hubby. They had the door open pretty quick , the lift wasnt level with the doors so they had to help her down. Myself and my younger daughter watched from our balcony and gave a big cheer. Kathryn was given the call out sheet as a souvenir of her ordeal. My hubby having some journalistic experience (in the music press) decided to write a report which I made into a newspaper cutting using a site I found on the internet.
It soon got around the school the next morning what had happened and she soon saw the funny side of it.

A Book For Kathryn

Kathryn will be leaving her Primary school in less than 2 weeks and I decided to make her a book that she can take in on her last day for her schoolmates and teachers to sign. I remember doing this at school and using an autograph book.
I have used acetate on the covers and left the decoration quite simple. Chipboard letters, some organza ribbon some eyelets and die cuts.
Kathryn likes it.

Many Thanks lol

It's been a while since my last posting, I have been busy with many things including the summer fair (what a distater...never again).
Anyway my oldest daughter Kathryn has her first ever trip away with no family. 4 days with her classmates having lots of fun, Kathryn came back not feeling so good and had to take a day off school yesterday, anyway she is back today and asked if I could make Thank You cards for all the teachers/assistants who went on the journey, so here they are 5 out of the 6. Made mostly with printable papers and embellishments.

Fathers Day Card

Another card finished, this time for my Dad for Fathers Day. I do find it hard to do male cards, my Dad sails and I have before used a sailing or nautical theme but I seem to have run out of embellishments (I should look out for some stamps).
Another C5 card, my favorite size at the moment.
The stamped image has been stamped on acetate and then attached to some gold mirror card, lots of matting and layering . I have used my new sizzix photocorner die to finished it off.
Anyway I scanned the image as usual and played around with my photo editing so the mirror card doesn't just come out black.
Hope he likes it
